"Just to observe-?" he starts, but the bow takes him off guard a little. Dimitri is hardly a master, of course, even though he holds himself quite regally. That's just habit though to try and make a good impression. Perhaps he was being too formal though; the last thing he wants to do is seem above his fellow students.
