[ You know what else would be equally tragic? Hilda having to carry the books back. So maybe they can find a way so that both of their days don't end in complete tragedy today. She slides the books gently back onto the edge of the desk. Whether or not the intent is to keep them there remains to be seen but they obviously don't need to be a part of the conversation right now. ] 

Well, you see - I just finished it and was on my way back to my room so I could keep it there until our next class with you but then one of the vines snatched it right out of my hands. [ The injustice of it all shows plainly on her face. ] I tried to chase after it but I couldn't find it so I was wondering if I could get a little extension.

I also can't find the book I was using about fighting stances. I think someone else might have taken it or misplaced it somewhere else.
