[It's comforting. Which is a word that she rarely, if ever, used to describe anything in her life. And the fact it's coming from an adult is what's weirding her out more than anything else. It's unknown and she doesn't really know what to expect, how this will play out, what the motive behind it is. Because everyone around her has always wanted something from her despite what they said otherwise.
