It wasn't too costly- apparently it's very common where they came from, [she half hums, half titters, looking over it with a careful squint as well.] ...They explained a little of it, but I would think it's heating things- you keep hot coals in one side, enough that it could be used as a grill. The other side is to be full of water, like a double boiler would be. It's definitely meant for clay vessels instead of anything glass...
